<description>Heya, I saw this space wasn't being utilized so I figured I'd post what I just typed on the Wiki TALK page Oct 13, 2007.

I'd like to also take this time to say the OCpodcasters.com booth was AWESOME at NewMediaExpo.com !

Dear OCpodcasters,

Hi there, I am NEW to this wiki although I've been an OCpodcaster member on MeetUp.com for a few years now (and STILL a technically-struggling podcaster).

Re: OCPODCASTER NAME CHANGE / STRUCTURE

The name change should include NEW MEDIA ie. Orange County New Media AND/or SoC CaL New Media (I think I own the URL SoCaLPodcamp we can use, I bought this BEFORE meeting the Two Linda's who want to organize a Podcamp in Long Beach!)

The LA podcasters can get LA NEW MEDIA and LOS ANGELES NEW MEDIA (I am sticking with LBpodcasters.com , however I'd suggest someone more technical than I scoop up LONG BEACH NEW MEDIA, ha!)

I saw the list of online entities in a recent Meetup email but MySpace was NOT included. TOM ANDERSON from MySpace.com was on JIMMY KIMMEL last night and he said he's sticking with mySpace as they have only developed 20% of the visions (he didn't actually say vision but that's my interpretation). (If you are a Podcaster on myspace, join PODDYWOOD.com )

MORE -&#62; Somehow I got on the INVITE LIST for MediaBistro.com . Check THEM OUT! I went to their FREE, SCRUMPTIOUS MeetUp (of sorts, I forget what they called it - a Happy Hour?) in BEVERLY HILLS and met magazine publishers, a Facebook Programmer, The Hollywood Reporter(s)... I suggest checking out their "structure" as an Example. There are prob other examples but I'm CLUELESS.

To further sweeten the pot, CHARGE MONEY for non-Podcasters to attend the meetups, making them more exclusive (unless they are a published reporter). This money can go towards reimbursing for expenditures AND pay for next years booth in Las Vegas. (If you wind up collecting more "donations" than it cost, I guess start a non profit!)

PERSONAL NOTE: I am STILL looking for a PITboss (someone to help me tweak my LIVE SHOWS at Cerritos College Radio and CSULB and/or do post production/editing/file conversions in exchange for me EXPOSING THEIR Talent, Product or Service (TPS)). ALSO I'd love for someone to assist/consult me with/about LIVE COVERAGE with SIMULTANEOUS world-wide CHAT at Long Beach events.

If interested Please email me directly at theprimespot@AOL.com or leave a message (that WON'T be broadcasted to the wwworld, ha!): 562-804-5625

		<description>Hey Scott

Thanks for the shout out, but I think the "celebrity podcaster" line might qualify as false advertising! Please be advised.

Cheers,

		<description>And I felt like I missed stuff!

The upcoming meetings are going to be great. There are so many things to learn about podcasting. I've really enjoyed the meetings so far.
